Battle Point Park

Please excuse the recent hiatus from blogging. Between classes starting up and trying to keep up with gridiron skulduggery at UNC, it's been hard to find time to post. But here are some photos from our trip last weekend to Battle Point Park on Bainbridge Island.

Please note the sunshine. Locals have told us that it is unusual to have sunny weather this late into the fall. The winter rains should be here soon, we've been told, but not on the day of our visit to the park. Unfortunately, though, we could not bring our pet pig.
First stop was the tunnel, which Michael enjoyed. Since he can't crawl yet, he was happy just to sit in there and listen to his dad knock on the walls, which created an echo in the tunnel.
The real adventure began, however, when we moved to the swings.
Even with his frog hat, it was too sunny, so we turned him around in the swing.
Once he got going, he was really enjoying himself!

Here are some other pictures from bed time. Since school started I've been on bath and bedtime detail. I get home at 5:40 every day but Thursday and play with Michael for half an hour and then it's off to the bath, which he loves.
Once the bath is over, we head back upstairs and get ready for story time. One night we interrupted the routine for Michael to say good night to his favorite friend Farley, the stuffed dog, which Henry and Elizabeth gave him. He says good morning to Farley everyday and loves to snuggle him!
Then it's time for story time, usually four books: "Baby Night, Night," "On the Night You Were Born," "How Does a Dinosaur Say Goodnight?" and "Goodnight Moon."

Michael just keeps getting more cute. What a happy baby. You both are great mom and dad. I like the pictures and commentary. I think of you guys often.
